"Ringling College of Art and Design Becomes First Educational Institution in the World to License CryENGINE 2®
Frankfurt, Germany / Sarasota, Florida, September 17 – Ringling College of Art and Design and Crytek today announced the College has become the first higher education institution in the world to acquire a
license to use Crytek’s award-winning CryENGINE 2® middleware for educational purposes.
Remarking on the agreement, College President Dr. Larry Thompson said, “We are thrilled Crytek has chosen Ringling College as its inaugural partner for educational licensing. We view this CryENGINE 2® agreement as a validation of the exceptional and innovative academic program we have created here and feel privileged to have Crytek as one of our newest business partners.”
The addition of CryENGINE 2® to the learning environment is tremendous according to the College’s Computer Animation Department Head Jim McCampbell: “Our student body is a uniquely talented group which consists of some of the most amazingly gifted young artists, animators and designers to be found anywhere in the world, and our job as an institution is to prepare them to take their place in a future where computer games, 3D graphics and computer animations may well become the overwhelmingly dominant commercial and creative art form. They deserve to work with only the very best visual tools currently available, and no other real-time technology can compare to the CryENGINE 2® in either animation or scene rendering quality, and nothing else comes close to the ease of use and power of the new Sandbox 2TM level editor.”
“No other game engine comes close to offering the visual fidelity of the CryENGINE 2®, which can produce the kind of high quality near-photorealistic output in real time that until now required expensive render farms days, or even weeks, to generate,” McCampbell said. “With the CryENGINE 2®, Crytek has clearly created a product that is a full generation ahead of anything else, and truly defined what next generation means today. Licensing the CryENGINE 2® will ensure our graduates are prepared and experienced in working with a technology that is rapidly becoming a new industry standard, while allowing them the possibility to create virtually anything their imaginations can conceive,” he concluded.
“We are extremely proud to have been chosen by such a highly regarded school as Ringling College of Art and Design as their game engine provider, and very pleased to have the school many regard as the best computer animation school in the USA become the first to join our new educational licensing program.” said Faruk Yerli, managing director of Crytek, “The ranks of the Ringling alumni reads like a who’s who of the computer graphics world, as do the companies they work for. Our own director of animation is an alumnus, which shows you how highly we regard their graduates. Now that Ringling will be training their students using our engine and tools, we look forward in the coming years to welcoming even more future graduate game designers and animators to our employ, as will the ever growing list of companies who have chosen to license the CryENGINE 2® for their own productions.”

Neuer CE2 Lizenznehmer

"Frankfurt, Germany / Seoul, Korea, September 14 – Reloaded Studios, a recently formed Korean game development company, today announce that they have entered into a licensing agreement with Crytek, the German developers of the highly anticipated upcoming release, Crysis, for use of the award winning CryENGINE 2 middleware to develop their new Action Strategy MMORPG.
“Our technology team carefully reviewed and analyzed both the features and limitations of all of the major game engines and middleware solutions which are currently available to license, before making our choice.” says Ki-Yong Cho, Chief Executive Officer of Reloaded Studios. “No other engine came close to offering the dynamic features, developer friendly tools, or provided anything near the visual quality of the CryENGINE 2. We felt it was extremely important when our game is eventually released that it will still be able to stand apart from all other titles, either currently existing or presently in development, in what is now already a very competitive market. We felt only the CryENGINE 2 could support the dynamic content and massive landscapes we intend to build, let alone do justice to the unique art style we plan on bringing to our MMO. Licensing the CryENGINE 2 was an obvious and unanimous choice.”
“We are really looking forward to working together with Reloaded Studios on this exciting new game development.” said Faruk Yerli, managing director of Crytek, “The experienced team that Reloaded Studios has brought together will ensure they have the talent and resources to create a blockbuster hit with this title. When we saw the stunning concept visuals and exciting game design ideas they shared with us we immediately knew that what they have planned will be a true next-generation MMORPG, and become the kind of game which will set the visual and game play standards against which future MMO‘s will be judged.”
About Reloaded Studios, Inc.
Reloaded Studios, Inc. (“Reloaded Studios”) was founded in Seoul, Korea in 2007 by one of the Korea’s online game pioneers, Ki-Yong Cho, Co-Founder of Webzen (NASDAQ: WZEN) and Creator of the MMORPG “MU” which became a phenomenal success across Asia with more than 50 million subscribers; Chris Lee, former head of Worldwide Studio group who managed nine studios worldwide; and Jino Lee, former senior publishing producer for APB and Red 5 Studio’s unnamed project and development producer for “Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders”. The other key members of Reloaded Studios consist of MMO industry veterans with a tremendous amount of previous networked games experience between them. Reloaded Studios is currently developing innovative and challenging action next-generation MMO which will open up new markets. Mulitplayer- & DX9 - DX10 Facts
von Noha | 14.09.2007 - 09:41 Uhr |
|
 |
DX9 - DX10 geben.
Instant Action
This game mode can be compared to classic death match in general. Due to the Nanosuit being available in multiplayer as well the player will experience a whole new variety of this mode. It is more dramatic, intense and includes a lot more action.
Actually Instant Action has not changed very much. The pace and the variety of how to play this mode are still granted by the Nanosuit functionality. Enough weaponry, attachments and equipment placed throughout the maps encourage players to experience different tactics. Small, medium and large map sizes allow multiplayer fun for each team size.
PowerStruggle
This game mode is all about team play and tactics. Capture factories and buildings to gain prestige points which can be spent on weaponry and vehicles. Fight together with your team mates on the server for the ultimate glory and victory which can be accomplished by destroying the enemy headquarter with endgame high-tech weaponry like tactical nukes or Alien technology. To access these endgame weapons you need to have the generator of the research facility loaded at 100% which can be achieved by capturing and holding several Alien crash sites.
Power Struggle will be the main multiplayerpart of Crysis, featuring action, tactical behaviour and strategies.
DX9 vs. DX10 – The final answer
To shed some light into one of the most discussed topics regarding Crysis multiplayer I would like to explain you the differences between Crysis MP DX9 and DX10.
As for the DX9 version we won’t have physics and day and night cycle in-game. That means you won’t be able to shoot down trees and/or alter any other objects than vehicles on the map. Additionally the time of day setting doesn’t change dynamically. This is caused due to the tremendous server load such physics might cause on crowded gaming servers. Still you will be able to experience maps with different time of day settings since the maps can be altered in the Sandbox2 Editor.
Rather than providing the community partially working features we limit this for the DX10 version only. Due to the strong hardware available with DX10, server load is less and performance is increased. This ensures the pure physics and day and night cycle experience without any limitation.
Gamers with a DX10 card are able to play on DX9 servers, but with the limitation of the respective server. Vice versa it is not possible for gamers with DX9 cards to play on DX10 servers due to the limited features.

Crytek's Statement zur Beta
von Dbzman | 12.09.2007 - 19:28 Uhr |
|
 |
"Missing public announcement
As many of you may have recognized, there was no public announcement from either EA or Crytek regarding the Crysis MP Beta. The reason for this was that this batch 1 of the Beta is an internal test only and is not the actual start. The official Beta for Fileplanet subscribers is almost ready and there will be a huge global announcement with lots of information included. Additionally this announcement is just the beginning of an upcoming community focus – so expect a lot more information in form of screenshots, videos, reports, events and much more to be ready for you!
Batch 1 – Friends & Family internal test
Quite a few of you wonder why you haven’t had any chance to sign-up for the first batch of the Beta. This was due to this first batch being available for a pre-selected group only. The members of this group are people who have been invited by EA and/or Crytek to join the Beta program of Crysis. There has been a very limited number of available keys for them. Additionally Fileplanet gave a few of their Founder’s Club Members the chance to sign-up for this event as well.
This is our final test to verify the stability before the initial Beta begins. It is an important test for EA and Crytek since we can see how everything works under real life conditions. This internal test is not directly related to the rest of the Beta. Therefore we did not plan to official announce it.
Payment required to access the Beta? No!
We have read a lot of posts about people who mentioned that you need to pay additional money to be able to join the Beta. Just let me get this straight – this is definitely not the case. When you have a subscriber account you will be able to sign-up for one of the upcoming batches.
The payment many of you have been discussing about was related to the Founder’s Club membership of Fileplanet which was needed to get one of the very few places in the first batch. Founder’s Club membership is not necessary to take part in the upcoming batches.
Crysis Beta leaked information
On behalf of Crytek and EA we ask you to not post any content if you signed up for the Beta. It is a closed event and is covered by a NDA you have accepted during the sign-up process. Posting screenshots, videos or other internal information from the Beta is a violation of the NDA and will cause in an immediate and permanent ban from the Beta program.
Even though the interest from the public audience in such an event is greater than expected, we still do not want to see internal information on a public forum or web site. So be prepared for some exciting weeks and please respect the rules of the NDA."

Beta Jetzt!
von Noha | 11.09.2007 - 07:29 Uhr |
|
 |

- Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8 GHz CPU
- Grafikkarte: Geforce 6600/Radeon X800 GTO
- 768 MByte RAM, 1 GByte unter Windows Vista
- 6 GByte Festplattenspeicher
- 256k+ Internetverbindung
- DVD-Laufwerk
- Dual-Core CPU (Athlon 64 X2/Pentium D)
- Grafikkarten: Geforce 7800 GTX/Radeon X1800XT oder entsprechende Direct-X-10-Grafikkarte
- 1,5 GByte RAM
- 512k+ (128k+ Upload) Internetverbindung

Fileplanet bietet nämlich neben Rayman Raving Rabbids, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time und Ghost Recon auch FarCry zum kostenlosen Download an.
